When I was about eight my Dad brought one home that he paid $10 for. Man, I thought that was my gun. Then one day it was gone-some fool offered him $20 for it. Today I have an 1874 Sharps in 45-90, and its more fun to shoot than anything this side of an M-79 grenade launcher. It has creedmore sights, and will put 3 rounds using pyrodex into two inches with my bad eyes. Years ago detecting at Ft Clark Springs, I dug big slugs, and brass, and even some rim-fire brass {Henry?} in some campsites of the Seminole Scouts the Army used to hunt down the Apaches. When RE Lee closed that place down before the Civil War{it was reopened afterwards}-he was the CO-they buried the China and Silverware. To this day its never been found.
