I must admit, I have to play with every knob, switch, and button on what ever detector I am using at the time and sometimes open them up and look inside for hidden adjustment devices. Once I learn what effect each setting has on the detector, then I start thinking about combonations of settings. I have enjoyed every detector that I have used and found keepers with all of them. I went through a phase where I wanted the most high tech machine, that I could afford, I used the DFX, EXP II, GTI 2500, C$, and a bunch of others along the way, now I am having a lot of fun using the RS 3300, Brown Box Eldorado, and my old Compass 94b, man the way I look at it, if I am in good health and I can get out and spend some time doing something that I enjoy doing, it's a good day. One thing that you can bet on, what ever detector I am using, I will be tweaking.
