I went out to Walgrens at 2am for batteries-NEVER buy batteries at Walgren, they are 2X the price. I put the batteries in-nothing; made sure they were proper polarity when put in and even checked them with a battery tester-everything was fine. Yet it would not work. I emailed Ron at Dixie Metal Detectors about it the next morning, and his reply was, " did you have the headphones plugged in"? [Duh!] Don't you know he enjoyed that-I never caught on that it did NOT have a speaker. But its definitly a cannon when it comes to depth.
